development and the reading habit among students in rural schools through the
Guided Extensive Reading (GER) Program.
This study reported
about how to motivate the students to familiarize themselves extensive reading
in English and helping the students to understand English texts. The method of
this study used Guided Extensive Reading (GER). In this method, teacher needed
to give students well information about books and reading material. Secondly,
GER conducted when situation in class relax, informal, and teacher focus to
helping students read for pleasure. Third, teacher prepares books that
correspond to the level of student competence. Forth, students
are free to choose books that they like. Fifth, after students read the book,
they were to retell what they read. The last, teacher gives praise when
students have progress in reading. The findings of this study conducted within
4 months, students experienced an increase in reading English. In conclusion,
the increase in students' attitudes towards reading in English and motivate
them to continue to read, it is possible to improve their English language
skills.

Konstantina (2016), Enhancing Fourth Graders’ Writing Skills through
Collaborative Writing Task: An Experimental Study
This study investigated
about how to improve writing skills student through collaborative writing task
relating process writing. The method of this study is the participants were
divided into 2 groups. The first group uses collaborative group and the second
group using the individual group. The findings, the collaborative group
produced more simple sentences than the individual group as well. The
collaborative group performed better than the individual group. The
collaborative group also tended to produce slightly more compound sentences
than the individual group, though with a certain amount of fluctuation. In
conclusion, collaborative writing created an overall positive atmosphere in the
classroom and encouraged student collaboration as well as promoted good
interpersonal relations.
