Mohd Asraf Ratnawati, Sheikh Ahmad Ismail (2003), Promoting English language development and the reading habit among students in rural schools through the Guided Extensive Reading (GER) Program.

This study reported about how to motivate the students to familiarize themselves extensive reading in English and helping the students to understand English texts. The method of this study used Guided Extensive Reading (GER). In this method, teacher needed to give students well information about books and reading material. Secondly, GER conducted when situation in class relax, informal, and teacher focus to helping students read for pleasure. Third, teacher prepares books that correspond to the level of student competence. Forth, students are free to choose books that they like. Fifth, after students read the book, they were to retell what they read. The last, teacher gives praise when students have progress in reading. The findings of this study conducted within 4 months, students experienced an increase in reading English. In conclusion, the increase in students' attitudes towards reading in English and motivate them to continue to read, it is possible to improve their English language skills.


Stratigou Konstantina (2016), Enhancing Fourth Graders’ Writing Skills through Collaborative Writing Task: An Experimental Study

This study investigated about how to improve writing skills student through collaborative writing task relating process writing. The method of this study is the participants were divided into 2 groups. The first group uses collaborative group and the second group using the individual group. The findings, the collaborative group produced more simple sentences than the individual group as well. The collaborative group performed better than the individual group. The collaborative group also tended to produce slightly more compound sentences than the individual group, though with a certain amount of fluctuation. In conclusion, collaborative writing created an overall positive atmosphere in the classroom and encouraged student collaboration as well as promoted good interpersonal relations.

So, fostering students’ reading interest is a very crucial for their language proficiency development. Teachers need a fun, engaging as well as interesting way to make the students more active in reading. However, in reality there are not many Indonesian students who enjoy reading English book as English language is not their main language. In our opinion, to overcome this problem there are several ways which teachers can implement in their reading class. Those ways are the reading material must be easy for the students to understand, a variety of reading material on a wide range of topics must be available for students, and learners read as much as possible.

KINESTI ARINING TYAS ASSALAMUALAIKUM WR.WB              Aku telahir dengan nama lengkap Kinesti Arining Tyas di Kabupaten Sleman, 17 Juni 1996 Yogyakarta. Nishino Takako, (2007). Beginning to read extensively: A case study with Mako and Fumi This study investigated about the beginning to read extensively with Mako and Fumi. This method of the study was a case study with longitudinal on reading strategies and motivation. Takako Nishino was using 2 of Japanese middle school students, their name were Fumi and Mako. The researcher conducted the research for the period of 2,5 year study with 4 times interviews, gave test regularly and observed the participant behavior in each reading session. In this study, the first time researcher said two motivations about the purposes of extensive reading: (a) to develop their English reading fluency and (b) to allow them to enjoy the natural pleasure of reading. Researcher also freed them to choose their own book, stop reading if you do not find an interesting book, and reading for pleasure but researcher suggest not looking for an unknown word through the dictionary and may ask him/her or cons
